KNOW ABOUT YOUR COFFEE

  • Guatemala has a long and storied history with coffee, dating back to the 19th century. Coffee was first introduced to the country by Jesuit priests, who began cultivating the crop in the Antigua region in the 1700s. However, it wasn't until the mid-1800s that coffee became a major export crop for the country.

During this time, coffee plantations began to spread throughout the country, with many wealthy landowners investing in the crop. By the early 1900s, coffee had become one of the country's most important exports, and it remains so to this day.

Guatemala's coffee industry has faced numerous challenges over the years, including natural disasters like hurricanes and earthquakes, as well as political instability and economic downturns. However, the country's coffee growers have persevered, and today Guatemala is known for producing some of the world's finest coffees.
