• Equipment:

      • Medium roast coffee beans (ground fine)
      • South Indian filter
      • Filter coffee maker or a large mug

      Ingredients:

      • Coffee beans (3tablespoons)
      • Water
      • Milk (optional)
      • Sugar (optional)

      Directions:

      1. Boil water in a separate vessel or kettle.
      2. Add about tablespoons of Indian coffee powder (finely ground) to the filter. The filter should be filled about halfway.
      3. Tap the filter lightly to level the coffee powder.
      4. Place the filter on the top of the filter coffee maker or a large mug.
      5. Pour a small amount of boiling water into the filter, just enough to moisten the coffee powder.
      6. Allow the coffee powder to bloom for about 30 seconds.
      7. Pour hot water over the coffee powder in a circular motion, filling the filter about three- quarters full.
      8. Close the lid or cover the mug with a lid to keep the coffee hot.
      9. Allow the coffee to drip through the filter and into the coffee maker or mug.
      10. Once the coffee has fully dripped through, add milk and sugar to taste.
      11. Mix well and enjoy your hot cup of South Indian filter coffee.
