• Equipment:

      • Moka Pot
      • Kitchen scale
      • Hot water kettle
      • Coffee grinder
      • Mug or carafe
      • Towel or oven mitten

      Ingredients:

      • 18g coffee (3.5 tablespoons)
      • Water

      Directions:

      1. Boil water and let it cool for a few minutes to reach a temperature of around 200°F (93°C).
      2. Grind 18 grams of coffee beans to a fine consistency.
      3. Fill the Moka Pot base with hot water up to just below the safety valve.
      4. Place the funnel into the base and add the ground coffee, leveling it off with a finger or a chopstick.
      5. Screw on the top chamber tightly.
      6. Place the Moka Pot on a stove set to medium heat.
      7. Use the towel or oven mitt to hold the Moka Pot and give it a gentle swirl after the first bit of coffee starts to emerge.
      8. When the coffee reaches the bottom of the top chamber, remove the Moka Pot from the heat.
      9. Pour the coffee into a cup or carafe immediately to prevent over-extraction.
